Angus Ferguson - The Connected Trust Community Barge

Angus Ferguson is a 55FT x 10FT widebeam canal boat, moored on the Leeds & Liverpool canal at Swiftcraft Boats in Apperley Bridge. It is owned by Green Lane Primary School in Bradford and is currently used as a floating classroom.

We are in the process of forming a partnership to allow Scout groups to use the boat for weekend use during term time and for full week or weekend use during school holidays.

It can carry upto 15 people for day trips and there are 4 young people bunks with space on the floor for an additional 4 young people and 3 adult bunks for overnight use. As it is mainly used as a day boat there are no privacy curtains/dividers so it is currently not suitable for mixed groups

On board there is a kitchen with cooker and fridge, two pump out toilets with one in the main bathroom, propane central heating, 240v power supply and 15 bouyancy aids.

For weekend trips groups can either go to the top of Bingley 5 Rise locks or to the centre of Leeds but not onto the river as the boat is currently for canal use only. For week trips groups could go to Skipton and then on to Gargrave and Foulridge if they wish.
